Writing In First Grade: There are four units of study in writing during the first grade year. The year ends with an integrated unit about organisms and the students once again write Non Fiction Chapter Books about the animals they are learning about.

During the months of January and February students will be learning how to write Reviews (Opinion Writing). Here is a sample of the end of Unit expectation:
